GRIND ETHIKS MIXTAPE SHOW
The Grind Ethiks Mixtape Show is a radio show that I started in 2005 on WWW.ScrubRadio.com. My man Turbo put me on to the station. We broadcast the show from his room in Brooklyn. I came on every sundays , I played straight rap music,
I never played that wack shit that you hear on commercial radio.
However there was one time when I interviewed some chick & she was playing gospel music & freestyling about Jesus Christ on the air. In my head I was like "oh no"
being that Im anti religion & I sure don't believe in Jesus Christ.
But I let it fly , and plus I was tring to get some ass anyway lol .
I remembered I had alot of independent artist on my show . I invited artist
such as Rugged & Raw , Hasan Saalam , Ques , Nickillus Cage, Porta Klick,
Life Long , Respect Tha God , Doc Strange and so on and son .
Effortunity Scrub Radio folded & Grind Mixtape Show was homeless for three years.
One day I was at Good Money Studios which is a multi media studio. The owners was talking to me about selling studio time. Also they was telling me that they had their own radio station but they left it alone for a while. A few days later I propose to them that they should re open the Good Money Radio Station and how it will benifit the whole studio . Therefore the rest is history and I have been broad casting Grind Ethiks Mixtape Show for a while now on WWW.GOODMONEYRADIO.COM. Also my show is kind of different now.
I still cater to the underground emcees but Im now playing r&b artist from both
the mainstreem and independent world . In the begining of the show I play alot of old school r&b & funk music from the 70's & 80's & 90's then I go into the new school stuff but at the same time I do mix a little old school rap with the new school songs.
Another thing that I do different that I did not do to much on Scrub Radio is
most of the time I post up a topic for people to talk about then mad folks be calling & harrasing the phone line lol. Before since I was talking about old school music
now my age demographics is from 25 to 50 yrs old . Infact I gain a little older
crowd since I interviewed the lengendary hip hop soul group , The Fore Mds ,
however one thing that stayed the same is my catch phrase, " TELL A FRIEND TO TELL A FRIEND THAT ITS ALL ABOUT THE MOTHERING FUCKING GRIND BASICALLY !!! Yo I like to say thanks to all my supporters/listeners , Thanks to the Gods Latiks & Knowledge for
giving me a chance to re broadcast Grind Ethiks , thanks to all the guest who came by for a interview , thanks to my nigger Rap artist Pessimist for co hosting with me every month , thanks to My Queen Helen who help me structure the show (WWW.GOHELENMARIE.COM). The Grind Ethiks Mixtape Show comes on every wednesday 8-11pm eastern time on WWW.GOODMONEYRADIO.COM hosted by VIKTORY BX SUPREME PROMOTER .

CAKTUZ..?13 (GOD'Z PORNO)
I was chilling hearing God’z Porno, performed by North Carolina
rhyme sayer Caktuz..?13.The cover & the title alone has build up some
controversy amongst the religious community, however a little controversy
does generate good publicity to a certain degree, besides the religious world has
accumulated a lot of controversy themselves, way before Caktuz
shittt even way before cars was invented.(real talk ) Now Im going to get into the nitty gritty of God’s Porno. The production on this album is a mixture of
blues, rock & a little funk music . The first time I heard God’s Porno,
I sense the pain & agony in the music along with the ill concepts that
make agony & pain feels good to the ears. Caktuz has one song on the project called “Tha Dammed” (A Thug Fate). The song starts out with a
a guitar riff of the Star Spangle Banner.Caktuz says a
few words then the electric guitar sound drops with a splashing open hi hat
that just smacks you in the face. The song is reflecting on the story on how God
rejected the Devil ; which is a metaphor of how the system that we live under
rejects the people that we call thugs.
As far as Caktuz lyrical swagger, its pretty much on point. Check out this
Line that he said on Black Byrdz feat. Mr Rucker.
“ The humidity is ridicules fans blowing smell of shit through the dorm/faggot
c.o.’s sweating us with their hard on's / no time for regrets now
gotta to live with that outside / contact is a set back I'm better off clearing
my thoughts of anyone I loved so in the end it won’t hurt me as much”.
Yo on the rale (real) anyone that has been in the prison system or anyone who is just a fan of lyrical skills has to feel that line right there.
The album contains 13 joints & some artist features such as Nikki Blaze,
Bonita , Cavalier, Chivon, The Melvin Van Peebles & Wyme.
Go get God’s Porno trust me , Viktory knows best. You can down load
the lp from http://www.caktus.bandcamp.com.

Legion aka Dark Syde
Rap artist , Legion tha Dark Syde is defiantly a talented mc representing Austin Texas. Also he is the ceo of Against the Grain Ent. One of my favorite songs from him is “ like Dro “ produced by Silverback Jonz. The first time I heard this song I felt high just listening to the damm track. “ Like Dro is not your average down south song , which is snares hitting you every beat per second, snaps sounds & 808 drums that make nagas dance on some cheap high shit. The song actually gives you that getting smoking some good shit type of vibe , with a slow melody and sample hook from
one of his previous songs "Deez Niggaz" . The first part of the hook is sang by producer/singer,
Silverback Jonz and I must add that Silverback is a ill gutarist, watch out Wycleff. Check out how the chorus go “ Oh my my why I should I try to fly getting so high / Niggers know I come through smelling like dro/ watch me blow smoke while macking these woes . Legions delivers a real tongue twister lyrical tornado. One thing I like about Legion is that he brings a little of that southern swagger along with his lyrical skills. He does not kick that off the wall simple rhyming shit. Right now Legion is in the studio recording his new album called “Dark Syde of my room“. I just hope I get a free copy . ( ha ha ha ) I suggest ya hip hop lovers should go cop that. As far as shows Legion performs at the Flamingo Contina & Emo's River. Big shout to Legion , Producer Silverback Jonz for blessing them hot tracks & the whole Against the Grain Ent.

THE CHOSEN ONES CHOOSES THEMSELVS
Yo I dedicate this blog to the underground recording artist that think that they need to be sign
to a record company in order to make money ... but if u are a reguler blog reader .. hit me up on
Myspace , Twitter or Face Books & tell me what u think about this blog or my other blogs ...
now for ya misguided souls of the underground world ... alot of ya spend years , months
& days tring to get a record deal and I know some of ya are thinking about quiting music
because
no lame ass label don't want to sign you ... but alot of ya don't even think about selling your
own music by ... now some of ya underground rappers talk about how ya hustler or a boss
or a money flipper & all that good shit but alot of ya don't even sell your own music ... now what
kind of hustler are you my naga ? come on you ain't no real boss if u are waiting for a record
company to feed you ... I know some of ya is saying " oh there is no money in the underground "
of course there is money in the underground genius (sarcastic) ... look at undeground artist
like Immortal Technique who sell thousands of units with out any help from a major label ..
also look at tech 9 from cali who is making noise performing all over geting Rothchild notes
(money) also he puts out a new album every 3 months... now u got to be making some type of
money if you are going to put out a new cd every quarter ... now this my advice on how to make
a living as a unsign artist ... If you got good music with good quality mix down and the whole nine
build up a fanbase ... even if u got friends & family members that really like your music .. start
out with them & and gaining a fanbase through myspace or any social website .. go to networking
parties or live underground shows and collect emails ... so u can keep these people
updated on your music & shows ... its going to be a numbers game everyone that you interact
with is not going like your music ... but there is going to be a good number of folks will like your
music ... so the ones that do like your music ... invite them to your shows if they live in your state...
if u have a crowd of 50 - 100 people ... make a deal with a number of event promorters ...
tell them that you have a good crowd and work it out where you get a percentage of everyone
that comes under your guest list ... or if you got some money behind you .. rent a venue & charge
people to see you perform ... I suggest that you promote your event as a show / after party
so people that don't care about seeing you perform comes through anyway to hit you off with doe
...at the door ... Gather up a team of people that will help you out with your event ...
I personally know unsign artist such as singer, Raye 6 that pack her shows whenever I see her
perform . Also rap artist , Nyraine who is another independent artist had to make over a
thousand dollers at the last show that him & his team organized ... and that is with out the major
label who tried to give him a wack deal ... Http://www.Myspace.com/Nyraine as far as selling
your music ... you do not have to sell it hand to hand in the streets... you can sell it online
or distribute your music in the mom and pop stores ...or gather a team to sell it for you so you
have to do is collect money, bless your team , get your share & reup ( I suggest invest in a cd
burner) or if you don't have know one doing management , marketing and public relations
for you then read about it so you can do it for your self in the mean time ... and if you do not like
reading ... then force yourself to read mother fucker ... get off your lazy ass and take control
of your career put yourself in the mind state of a person that loves to read ... if music is your love and career you got to grind to the bone ... if you are not
willing to grind hard ... then you might as well not pursue a career in music ... you might as well
keep on working at your wack 9 - 5 job or keep on selling drugs on your wack block ... cause none
of ya is not going to make it as a money making artist unless you grind hard nagas!!!
take control of your music career now stop being slow and lazy... and I can't stress this enough...
you do not need the major labels for shit !!!! I repeat you don"t need them for shit!!!
The chosen ones chooses themselvs ... basically!!! ... read up on artist such as Mac Dre ,
Mc Quinn , Immortal Technique , Cormega , Hasan Saalam , Creature who are sucessful
music performers from the Underground Industry ...

THE READY CEE SHOW
I decided to show love to the people of underground media because underground media plays a major role in the careers of recording artist who are not in the mainstream . I was breaking
my brains , tring to decide who & what Im going to include as a first media feature on this publication . Therfore I decided to interview Dj Ready Cee of the Ready Cee Show since he has been one of the first radio deejays to host a program on the internet .
1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING RADIO ?
Shit, ever since I was playin music off my tape deck over a CB radio mic in '86! LOL
Man I started out doin it on the rough seas of pirate radio in 1998 along with DJ Snuu & DJ Yooter on 91.9FM in NYC with a show called The Underground Lockdown. We were on from 12-4am every Saturday night. We had some conflicting timing issues a while into it and stopped the program after a year. In the meantime I connected with the owners of the station and worked it out to continue the program on my own as The Ready Cee Show in '99. I'm not with that station any more but this year we're celebrating 10 Years of holding up that true Bronx Hiphop tradition that everyone seems to be abandoning lately.
2.WHAT & WHO INSPIRED YOU TO HOST YOUR OWN RADIO PROGRAM ?
WHAT inspired me the most was hearing the overwhelming amount of wackness that had infected the radio at the time. Phony DJs and uncultured hosts were running rampant on commercial radio and the doors were closing fast on skilled DJs and real hosts from the streets. When the money takes over its out with the realness and in with the robots yaknow! So when the chance came up to do my own thing in the market where Hiphop matters most I jumped at the opportunity. I'd already been DJing for 20 some years so it was a breeze making the transition. That also gave me the ability to keep things more in-house with the production because I already had my own idea about how I wanted it all to play out: Me, Dj Mixx, Snuu and my homie The Walkin' L as the co-host. As far as WHO inspired me, I'd have to shout my big Brother, Craig for keeping me well fed with records in my early years, Snake, Big Al & Casanova Rock or Dr. Funk, Dr. Rock, Ushay, Marley Marl & Pete Rock from the IN-CONTROL days, Red Alert just to name some...
3. DO YOU PLAY MUSIC FROM RAPPERS WHO ARE NOT REALLY LYRICAL BUT POPULAR AMONGST MOST OF THE MASSES ?
I play whatever I think is dope. I don't put up any bullshit boundaries between my ears and the speakers when it comes to music. If I like it then I'm fuckin' with it. I don't care if one other person likes it or if a trillion other people are feelin' it. The opinion of the masses has no presence in my musical decision making. Who I am and the people I represent are those who mold and create this form of music every day and we come from a time when Hip Hoppers had an identity and took pride in their interest and craft. I was doing my thing before 'THE MASSES' even considered Hiphop a respectable form of music so I don't give a shit about 'THE MASSES'.
4. NAME A FEW CELEBRITIES & UNDERGROUND ARTISTS WHO YOU'VE FEATURED ON THE READY CEE SHOW .
I've been blessed to touch base with an avalanche worth of intergalactic superstars throughout the time I've been doing what I've been doing. No one can be mentioned before my good friend DJ Kool Herc who's given me alot of wisdom to work with in this jungle! I've had many many artists on the show man... Grand Master Caz, Craig G, Tony Touch, Lord Tariq, Nice & Smooth, Percee P, AG, Dres from Black Sheep, Trife and the Theodore Unit, MC Shan, Immoral Technique, Ali Shaheed, Shyhiem, Das Efx, Sadat X, C Rayz Walz, J Dilla REST IN PEACE, DJ Premier, EPMD, OC, Kool G Rap just to name some off the top...
5. SO THIS IS YOUR 10TH YEAR OF THE READY CEE SHOW. HOW DO U FEEL ABOUT BEING ON FOR A STRAIGHT DECADE AND HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE OF THE FIRST RADIO DEEJAYS TO HOST AN INTERNET RADIO SHOW ?
Its feels good but its just a drop in the bucket. I've put in a lot of work before these past ten years and it all counts to me. The internet is still very new in my opinion. Things change every day. Theres so much room for creativity online that time really doesn't even factor in with it. Its constantly evolving faster than we can really keep up with it individually. Thats what makes it such an intriguing and challenging playing field. The Ready Cee Show definitely takes advantage of whatever technology is within it's reach.
6.WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A RAPPER BEFORE YOU PLAY HIS OR HER SONG ON YOUR SHOW ?
I'm just lookin for dope shit. I don't have a list of criteria that MCs have to match or anything. I don't care about your background, I don't care what you ate for lunch yesterday just give me a dope joint to rock! I've had so much music submitted to me over time that its somewhat desensitized me to the plight of the common rapper I admit that. There are times that the redundancy of aspiring artists gets to me. Most are under the assumption that there's some type of formula that has to be followed in order to 'make it' and that causes a lot of copy cat rappers with no originality. I'm mostly impressed by artists who ignore trends and do what comes naturally. If you're truly any good it'll show. Its something you're born with you can't learn how to make a dope Hiphop song, it might sound good but I can tell when shit has no soul.
7.I HEARD MY BROTHER DJ POLARITY IS SPINING EVERY WEEK ON THE SHOW , HOW DID YA HOOK UP ?
We definitely have my man Polarity on from time to time but the only other DJ who's on my show each and every week is DJ Mixx. Me and Polarity have been down for years. He was a regular on the show when it was still on 91.9fm out here. He was just coming up as a DJ at that time but he's definitely since made a name for himself in New York City. We both started Fat Beats Sundays where we would rock all day live at Fat Beats Record Store and showcase other DJs. We put that on hold for the winter but we got big plans for bringing it back in a major way this Spring.
8. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON INDEPENDENT RADIO PERSONALTIES CHARGING ARTIST FOR AIR PLAY?
If they're willing to pay fuck it. That's what commercialism is all about anyway. Selling a product and gettin paid. Musical integrity and pride can't be found in that situation but that's not what its there for if you ask me. I'm not gonna charge anyone to play their music but if they wanna run up and slide me a c-note to ensure a spin or two then bring it on! LOL. I've been doing this a very long time and I do more for Hiphop before 10am than most of these phonies have done their whole lives. I don't have anything to prove to anyone at this point. I am totally down with anyone making money. If I was doing commercial radio I wouldn't be able to play the real shit that I play anyway. Id be forced to play mostly booty Top 40 stuff so no, I wouldn't have any problem at all tappin' rappers' pockets if they want their WACK shit played on WACK commercial radio. Just don't bring that shit near The Ready Cee Show! Lol
9.HOW IMPORTANT DO YOU THNK INDEPENDENT MEDIA IS TO REAL HIP HOP AND THE UNDERGROUND MUSIC SCENE IN GENERAL ?
I've always been a huge supporter of underground media and new technology but its turned into sort of a double edged sword nowadays. While the new media and technology have given independent artists more freedom to take their work all the way from A-Z, its at the same time opened the doors to let a lot of people in who don't really belong. This new equipment and software has made it easy for people without a drip of talent to appear like they do. Hiphop has always taken new technology that wasn't necessarily made with the Hip Hopper in mind and manipulated it to our own usage. Now companies are making products designed specifically for Hip Hoppers to use and that creative aspect has been destroyed. Its become an assembly line of mass production with no one manning the quality control station! LOL. We have to get back to being more creative. Find something that wasn't meant to be used to make a beat and use it to make a beat. Find a topic that you have no knowledge of, do some homework and write something new! Challenge yourself! Everythings so easy now. Its hard to appreciate something that so easily accessible. We had to work hard to get our Hiphop on back in the day so I guess that gave us more appreciation for it.
10. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN TAKING THE READY CEE SHOW TO A COMMERCIAL RADIO STATION ?
Commercial radio would have to go through some radical changes before it would be ready to contain The Ready Cee Show. I'm not really interested. Radio is so local. Been there, done that. Not on a commercial level but our frequency was just as strong as any other so we had NYC on lock for 6 years straight whenever that ON-AIR light lit up! The nets where its at for me. I'd much rather take it to satellite or HD radio before the old analog-ass FM dial. For me radio is dead. Its an old played out form of broadcasting and its out of your control. We live in a self-created playlist age. An IPOD AGE. People want to hear what they want to hear when they want to hear it. Thats why I now do the show LIVE on Ustream every Wednesday & Saturday and podcast all my episodes through iTunes for the world to enjoy. We've had well over 60,000 subscribers to the podcast over the last few years and its growing daily. The reason is because people have a choice now. They're not forced to adhere to the musical opinion of some unassociated radio program director who doesn't know the meaning of dope cuz he's lookin for a suit and tie rap thats cleaner than a bar of soap! HAHA BIGGUP GZA! Real talk though!
11.WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PURSUE A CAREER AS A RADIO HOST ?
Just do it. People are creating podcasts every day and puttin em out there. There are thousands and thousands of podcasters on Podomatic which is the network that houses The Ready Cee Show. Other programs we're down with like DJ Mixx's The Chronicles, Apollo Treed's Soup Kitchen Exclusives, my homie DJ Toshi and Classic Storm Radio, The DSew Show out in London, producer GeeO Supreme's podcast.... the list goes on. There's no reason for anyone who wants to do it to not be on. Just be true to the game thats all.... and for God's sake if you claim to have a HIPHOP radio show then get a fuckin DJ if you're not one already. The DJ is the backbone of Hiphop music and if you dont have one around then you're not dealin with much. Last word of advice, if you're a phony DJ, MC, producer stick to the commercial stuff cuz we're patrolling the underground heavy this year and you WILL be revealed.
GREAT QUESTIONS FAM good lookin out cant wait to see it !!!-- THE READY CEE SHOWFREE Podcast-New episode every week!Over 50,000 Subscribers!http://www.thereadyceeshow.com/mailto:Subscribers!www.thereadyceeshow.comdjreadycee@gmail.com

MIXTAPE REVIEW ( MIC DIVINE )
INFINITE7MIND
Mic Divine Vol 1 , performed by Infinite 7 Mind is one mixtape that was worth
spending my last $5 on . Mic Divine is a combination of freestyles & original
songs that will keep your head nodding until every song is finished .
This brother is far from those no lyrical skills type of rappers .
The lyrics on this project is not super abstract but he still can wow you
with his rhymes, for example “ Jewish rabbis lie to give you circumcisions” .
(of the God Sunz freestyle featuring Jus Allah ) that was a little taste of
the verbal venoms that he has on the mixtape. As far as concepts , Infinite Mind talk about how skill full he is on the mic . Also he breaks down social issues, historic events
science & the daily life of being a hip hopper from New Jersey. I can’t forget to mention
the emcees that infinite has featured on Mic Divine that added on to this crazy collection,
such as Jus Allah, Angelic Army & Celestial Sol_jerz. Also peace to some of the producers for lacing the blazing beats such as Maleet, Explicit, Righteouz Knight,
Supa X , Dr. Islam, just to name a few. In conclusion, if you want to be educated &
