36zero

All supporters of underground rap music need to listen to get money
Mix tape performed by 36Zero. The God really went in on this to the
fullest. The rhymes is hot ,the flows is hot ,the beats is hot ,the hooks is hot . In fact look up the word hot and you will see my naga 36zero mixtape cover in every dictionary. (ha ha ha ) 36Zero pretty much has a deep flow and most of his rhymes is straight ghetto tongue twister on some ghetto
scientific shit. If ya did not understand what I met by that , then ya might never understand until ya hear the mix tape. You can hear tracks of pain, good times, and some songs of him talking about selling them Ronald Reagans (crack) . On the mix tape he bless
a freestyle , one of the Alchemist beats. He said some ill ass line on the
beat that always stay in my ear drum , check it out: “Any form of battling is
use less like 2 men reproducing /lesbos having babies/how many niggas got shitted on with every track I ever spitted on”. Now that was a little
teaser , ya readers get a little piece not the whole pie.
36Zero has an original track on the Get Money Mix tape called
“Make it Pop” , Featuring Don Murda . The back ground music to the song
has two vibes in one track. The song has a rugged side & a party side. Every time I hear the beat to “Make it Pop”, I see visions of cats chilling in the hood posting up in front of some project building or a bodega store. On the flip side I also see visions of cats chilling in some strip club , smacking on some ass, bottles poping and debt notes ( money ) flying all over the place.
Also there is other dope songs like “Sex, Money, Murda, featuring , again
My man, Don Murda. Also “Its all Good” and “The Sqaure.” Over all
every thing on the mix tape is flavors, those three song that I mention including "Make it Pop" are just my
personal favorite songs. You can hear the Get Money Mix tape on

PRODUCER STATUS

MEC-ONE

Mec -One from Mec One Productions has the type of beats that keep you in suspense like one of those Saw movies. Mec is one of those producers who picks a sound to play with, and tells a story with it. He produced “Prime Time” which was performed by Concrete Cash Flow. Mec bless the track with a mean horn sound followed by a more smooth but grimy sound with a bouncy 808 drum to complement the drum pattern. Also every now and then he dropped a little violin to add on with the song. Another banger that he produced was Kartel Supreme, which was performed by Triple Threat, ST da Nomad & Easy. This song contains a heavy violin sound that complements every element of the song including the vocals. Mec has a nice track record. He has produced a song for JR Writer of DipSet called “Hate on Me” of the Politics & Bullshit Mixtape. Infact Lloyd Banks spitted a freestyle on that same track that Mec produced for JR . Mec is currently working with The Kartel Family. Specifically Kennedy Clemente, Preamo, K.A.S.T , Triple Threat, ST & Easy. Mec also features on mixtapes Such as Army of Four & Murder Spree. You can find these Mixtapes on DatPiff , thatCrack.com, Coast2Coast.com Mixtapes and Http://www.theKartelfamilymixtapes.com.Blog.Spot.com . TRUE KNOWLEDGE

I was at the famous Eow open mic show (End of the Week)
in Club Pyramids Nyc. One of my Face book friends,
True Knowledge step on the stage. “ I said to myself
okay what the brother is going to spit and how is he going to spit it?” Is he going to perform hot songs with a ill stage presents? ”or is he going to spit both wack songs with
a wack stage presents. I thought to myself “then again
I am at a eodub show , hardly anyone does anything wack at a eodub open mic show". True Knowledge performed “Time of your Life”, which is a love song.
Personally I can’t stand love rap songs, but tru
killed it. While performing the song his body was in
partnership with the back ground music. He was not stiff
at all and he was not mimicking of Jay Z, which mad
rappers do on the regular. True was close and personal with the crowd , showing zero signs of shyness. Now the first
performance was a teaser. The Bx mc performed another song called “not your average Rapper.” When the dj
drop the melody , True gave the crowd a hard look. Then
when the beat dropped his hand gestures was all over the place. The hook of the song is hot, the audience went crazy.
Check how the hook goes.. “let me tell u something about the average rapper/ he swears his a gangster and a gun clapper/ talk about hustling on the mic fronting/your average rapper ain’t saying nothing this what I have to say / Im too real on the studio with the master appeal”. The message behind the hook is so real and fake proof even the average rapper got to feel it ha ha ha. in the middle of the show, true pulled out his African beads. “ I was like oh shit this cat is about to go Shaka Zulu
On niggas. True voice was extremely loud but his voice was clear enough for the crowd to grasp the message behind the song.
Then True Knowledge was waving his hands fast in front of his face just loosing himself in the music. Also he was spitting
A brief tongue twister as if he was crazy. After True knowledge gave the crowd that hot performance
I to said myself. “You know what Viktory Im convince that
True Knowledge is not your average rapper".
You can catch True Knowledge every Sunday performing
& ripping mics at the Eow Open Mic Show. Also you can hit him up on http://www.facebook.com/jacobtruetko

North of Division X
I was chilling, enjoying the live show at the 2009, Black August event at BB kings in New York City. Later on I was at the back stage
and I ran into North who is the member of the Bronx rap group,
Division X, which also consist of Mad Dogg & Dj Doctor Dust. He was the only member of his crew that came out just to see the live event. I decided to interview him anyway since he is part of the movement that I call the Underground Industry

Viktory: How did Division X started ? North:We knew each other since we were kids being ass holes at the park fooling around. After that we met Dj Dust cause he use to dj at jams with his cousin and I was a little mother fucker. I was not allowed at the jams but I tagged along anyway. Mad Dogg use to
carry the equipment for Dust & his cousin. We notice among each other that we have a real love for hip hop so we decided to form Division X.

Viktory: What does Division X brings to the table as far as content?
North: What we bring to the table is the truth of living in the world ,
the truth of living in the urban environment, we bring the truth of living period but from
a man hood perspective not from a kid's perspective. Our talk is man hood talk. Once you become a man and know how it is to be a
man then you will realize what we are talking about.

Viktory: Being that we live in the internet age, do you think it is
more easy for a unsigned recording artist to blow up compare to ten
years ago? North: It depends on what is your perspective of blowing up, everyone has their own perspective of blowing up. The internet
does give an artist the opportunity to get their music out there , and it gives an artist options on how to promote music.

Viktory: Do you & your group produce ya own beats or do ya deal
with a group of producers? North: Well we produce for ourselves
because we did not like the beats that people was giving us. Therefore
the majority of our beats is done by us , but we don’t try to keep ourselves in house. If an outside producer has some hot shit that we can put our energy on then we will rock with what that producer has made for us.

Viktory: So what is up with Division X as far as projects that ya did &
Projects that ya working on? North: Well the project Attack Mode is
our album that you can only get if you are one of our Myspace friends.
The second album, “ The hardcore Institute is our second album that
you can get from us hand to hand. We are about to put it out on
itunes. We sold over 7,000 units in the streets alone between
New York, Philly , Baltimore , Philly , Boston & New Hampshire.
Currently we are working on our third album called
“Rude Boy Swagga”.

Viktory: I remember seeing ya perform a couple of times and ya shows is of the hook so in that thought in mind , what motivates the group
before performing a show. North: What motivates us is the fact that
our fans paid $10 - $15 to come see us perform. Mother fuckers
want to get their money worth. A lot of people complain that they did not get their money worth because they seen some wack nigger perform that does not happen with Division X. You may say other niggers is wack but not Division X. The best compoment that we ever
got was when this dude who seen us perform said to us that “ya cats
killed the stage so much that I felt that I should of paid more money”
and that statement stuck with me ever since.

Viktory: Since Division X is from the Bronx which is the birth place of hip hop, do ya feel that ya have to go harder? North: Well we go
harder regardless. Being from The Bx or any part of the world don’t
mean nothing because we are from the planet earth bottom line
territories don’t mean shit.

Viktory: Is Division X searching for a record deal or do ya rather stay independent? North:
man slavery was over in the 1800’s( ha ha ha)
fuck that label shit. In order for us to get sign to a label the label
themselves have to put some proposals on the table so we can use their marketing money to promote our name then we bounce after a year. I am not
going to stay in a label for the rest of my life that means that Im going to get pimped for the rest of my life. For the most part we rather stay independent.

Viktory: Where can people contact Division X ? You can catch us on

ALBUM REVIEW: "THE DEAD END BEGINS"

THA PESSIMIST

One night I was chilling with Brooklyn mc, Pessimist at the studio. We was vibing off his first solo album called "The Dead End Begins" . His rhymes along with the back ground music of producers, Qzr, Ethic, Drastic B and Grazzhoper makes the Dead End a deadly combination of beats and
rhymes. One of my favorite songs from the lp , "Just Illing" has a compress kick & snare with
hot horns that comes in after every four bars. The ill piano sound on the track kept me in suspense to the point that I was waiting for pess to drop a new vesrse each time. Pessimist goes real hard with blazing lyrics along with a toung twister type of flow that will keep you more lost than an advance algerbra test. Another song that really snatches my ears was "Stay Real". In this
track he lets the listeners know that he does not have to be either a real live thug or a fabricated
studio gangster to be a real man. Although pessimist does not consider himself a gangster,
the track does remind me of the deep cover song performed by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg which
is a gangster banger. There is one song in the Dead End Begins Project called "Your Place or Mine ".
featuring Emma Frost . Your Place or Mine is a typical girly song that is about having a one night stand with an attractive woman. ; but one thing about the song is that Pess still keep it lyrical compare to alot of lyricist that choose to spit very simple when they are performing a girly song. The album is not that diverse as far as topics , although the sixteen track album is still defently something that is worth buying if you like lyricalious rhymes pouring on some tuff beats like
gravy on mash potatoes. Ya hip hop junkies can check out The Dead End Begins at different mom & pop stores in New York especially at Fat Beats. Also you can down load it from itunes for a small fee.

HOMEBOY SANDMAN

Most people who listen to rap music usually turn to the mainstream as if that world is the
only source to hear new and exclusive material. I am glad that a music lover like myself
is not hypnotize to think that the corporate side of the industry is a expert on rap music.
I have been around the independent circle since 2001. Therefore I had the opportunity
to see underground emcees perform such as Immortal technique, Nickillus Cage,
Hasan saalam , Aalikes , Blitz the Ambassador and many more. However there is one
Rhyme sayer that kind of sticks out from the rest and his name is Homeboy Sandman.

1. Explain what your music is about
Sandman: Its about love & truth the type of hip hop that I am making is very musical. I
tell stories that people understand and I point out the things that is in the world that
most people don’t notice.

2. Who have been your inspirations in the rap game?
Sandman: Fresh Prince was my inspiration, Black Thought, Big Pun, Andre 3000,
Red Man and I use to listen to Mos Def as inspiration.

3. I have seen you perform twice and I notice that your performances is really of the hook,
so I was wondering what motivates you to be so animated when you are on stage?
Sandman: I am motivated by the love of the music. Even when I hear the crowd
going crazy for someone else that still motivates me to be real energetic.

4. So are you working on an album right now?
Sandman: Yes I am working on my third album called the “Good Sun.” I am
talking more about regular social issues that effects the world and solutions
to solve these issues. The lyrics on the project is so amazing that lets say if I did not
have no flow it would not matter and the flow is so amazing that lets say if I did not
have no lyrics it would not matter.

5. What are the name of the producers that worked with you on this new album?
Sandman: Dj Spinner, Tone Deff, 2 Hungry Bros, J Live , Za keealy , Zaire ,
Sean Period Syko Les from the Beat Nuts and the Beat Miners.

6. Name the shows and venues that you performed at ?
Sandman: I performed in the Brooklyn Festival at Jones Beach, Rock Steady weekend ,
Knitting Factory both in Manhattan and Brooklyn, South Paw, Public Assembly, I
performed in venues in Atlanta, Las Vegas and I opened up for Canibus in a venue in
L.A.

7. If you had a chance to work with a number of emcees In the underground Industry
who would it be ?
Sandman: I would like to work with Jay electronica, Blue, Jean Grae, Ques & Madlib.

8. Are you planning to get sign to the mainstream or do you rather stay in the independent
circle?
Sandman: I don’t know who ever gives me more ears for my music. I am not against
the major labels but if I had the chance between getting 20 million dollars from a major
label vs. getting 100,000,000 listeners from the underground , I will take the 100,000,000
listeners.

9. Thanks a lot for taking the time for this interview, now how can the readers find out
more information on your career?

ASHY L BOWZ

Triple & Snuff known as Ashy L Bowz are one of Brooklyn's most
talented rap groups. Their lyrical game is pretty good. They don't
use alot of college words , but they do flip metaphors with a little
tounge twister in their flows that will kind of keep you lost.
Snuff & Triple are are not a one topic rap group. There is a song in
their collection that I really like called "Smoke Dat." This is how the chorus go "Fuck that shit Im about to kill this bitch what u
mean? wrap her up and put the heater to her head" I was asking
myself wow these nagas is on some gangster shit ? I was hearing their lyrics very slowly and I figured out they purposly made people think that they was rapping about killing a female ; however in all essence the song was just about smoking weed.
It was very creative of them to flip a weed song in a whole other fashion that people never heard before. Ashy L Bowz have another hot song called "Crime". The hook contains a Shade sample
which goes like "Is it a crime" then both of them reply by saying "if u don't get caught"..
Is it a crime .. if u don;t get caught .. if u don't get caught" . With out being judgemental, they basically asked the listeners is it a crime if you don't get caught for doing something that is against the law?
Snuff & Triple made a name for themselvs in the underground industry.
The last time I check their utube the numbers was at 300,000 views.
Also in the streets of Lower East Side Manhatten & Williamsburg Brooklyn, you see nothing but
Ashy L Bowz stickers all over these sections. The street buzz is so crazy that I bet your grandmother know about them. As a result of their recognition , Ashy L bowz was voted as the most original group at the 2009 underground award show.
If any of you is into real hip hop check out the Ashy L Bowz up & coming album called
"No Lotion" . http://www.nolotion.com/ , myspace/AshyLBowz , Facebook/AshyLBowz

UNDERGROUND INDUSTRY NEWSLETTER

The Underground Industry News letter is dedicated to inform music lovers both underground music fans and people who are not to formula with the underground circle about this world that we call the underground . Also another reason for me creating this publication is to let people know that what we call the underground or the indie movement
is a industry within itself. Its not just abunch of people doing music for a hobby or people prying
to some god that they will make it in the mainstreem. There has always been a movement of recording artist making money from their music with out any help from the major labels or any corporate input . Also don't forget the small record shops, internet web hosts, event promoters & independent media sources that make money from promoting independent acts on a reguler basies. Therefore the underground movement is true indeed a industry with in itself because there is money being made everyday. Watch out every two months for different interviews and
write ups on The Underground Industry.

Thank You
